This week, several users of the PS Plus started noticing that subscription stacking for the service appeared to have been disabled, which was confirmed to be a temporary measure by Sony. This technique allowed a priori to earn some savings on the next PS Plus, since Sony had indicated that members already subscribed to PlayStation Now would automatically obtain access to PS Plus Premium, the highest level of the new system. Sony clarifies a little more how all these conversions will work with an FAQ.

I already have a PS Plus subscription for the year, what will happen on June 22?

On the site of sonywe can now better see what the current subscriptions will correspond to when the new PlayStation Plus is implemented.

If you have, for example, prepaid cards with specific vouchers, whether for 1 month, 3 months or 12 months, here is what you will get in exchange after the implementation of the new PS Plus, depending on the level you are interested in (and it’s a bit complicated):

1 month of PS Plus

  • New subscriber: Converted in 31 days of PS Plus Essential
  • Essential: Converted to 31 days of PS Plus Essential
  • Extra: Converted to 20 days of PS Plus Extra
  • Premium: Converted to 17 days of PS Plus Premium

3 months of PS Plus

  • New subscriber: Converted in 92 days of PS Plus Essential
  • Essential: Converted to 92 days of PS Plus Essential
  • Extra: Converted to 58 days of PS Plus Essential
  • Premium: Converted to 46 days of PS Plus Essential

12 months of PS Plus

  • New Subscriber: Converted to 365 days of PS Plus Essentials
  • Essential: Converted to 365 days of PS Plus Essential
  • Extra: Converted to 219 days of PS Plus Extra
  • Premium: Converted to 183 days of PS Plus Premium

1 month of PS Now

  • New subscriber: Converted in 21 days of PlayStation Plus Premium
  • Essential: Converted in 40 days of PlayStation Plus Essential
  • Extra: Converted in 25 days of PlayStation Plus Extra
  • Premium: Converted to 21 days of PlayStation Plus Premium

3 months of PS Now

  • New Subscriber: Converted in 53 days of PlayStation Plus Premium
  • Essential: Converted in 105 days of PlayStation Plus Essential
  • Extra: Converted in 66 days of PlayStation Plus Extra
  • Premium: Converted to 53 days of PlayStation Plus Premium

12 months of PS Now

  • New Subscriber: Converted in 183 days of PlayStation Plus Premium
  • Essential: Converted to 365 days of PlayStation Plus Essential
  • Extra: Converted in 219 days of PlayStation Plus Extra
  • Premium: Converted to 183 days of PlayStation Plus Premium

So if you wanted to convert your PlayStation Now vouchers to PS Plus Premium, as promised, you’ll probably notice that Sony forgot to mention the fact that a few days of subscriptions would be missing, to better prorate (it’s still advantageous being given the price of the current PS Now and the future price of the PS Plus Premium).

Anyway, you now know what your future subscriptions correspond to, all you have to do is choose from the different levels.
