Farming Simulator 22: How to get water on the farm – build and fill water tank

Of course, where you farm and where plants grow, you also need water, but how do you get regular supplies of liquid on your farm? The answer is of course: with water tanks. We explain here how you can build and fill them and which ones are available, so that you can water your yields perfectly.

Where are the water tanks in the store?

The water tanks can be found in the construction menu of Farming Simulator 22, but it’s easy to get lost in there, because there are simply countless products for your farm. So first, let’s explain where to look for the tanks. First open your store menu and then go to tools. Now it’s getting a bit unexpected, because you also need the water tanks for the plants, but the search begins in the animal menu. So now click on animals a little further down and you should already have the water tanks in front of you.

What tanks are there?

You can build one of three Aquatrans tanks: The cheapest but also the smallest is the Joskin. The Lizard MKS 8 is medium-sized and, in contrast to the Joskin, can not only transport water but also, for example, milk from your cows. The largest tank is the Lizard MKS 32 with the most capacity. It can also store various liquids, but needs a truck as a towing vehicle – a tractor is not enough.

Once you’ve gotten a tank, you can connect it to your vehicle.

How do you fill the tank?

Very simple and free of charge: First drive to where there is water in the area, for example to ponds, lakes and so on. There you park your car with tank as close as possible to the water – but make sure that you can still drive away, because a full tank will cause a lot of backspin later. Especially if you’re standing downhill with the tank, it could be tough getting off again.

Next to the body of water you unlock the tank and then have the option of filling the tank in your vehicle menu. Be prepared that it will take a while for the container to be full – you can see how much you already have on the level indicator in the picture below.

If you don’t have a body of water nearby, you can also build a water container permanently on your property, but this is the more expensive option: not only do you have to set it up first, you also have to pay for the water you siphon off. You can also find the containers in the store menu under “Buildings”.

If you have placed a container, you can fill up your tank next to it in the same way as with a stream or river, you will then only be charged a price, which is not as high, however. Still, free is more convenient, right?
