OnePlus has just formalized two new smartphones in its Nord range. The OnePlus Nord 2T arrives in France, accompanied by the Nord CE 2 Lite and the Nord Buds headphones. We present to you its two mid-range smartphones that focus on value for money.
It was only a matter of time, OnePlus has finally formalized three new products this Thursday, May 19. Waited for a few weeks, the OnePlus Nord 2T arrives in France and does not come alone. He is accompanied by North CE 2 Lite and Nord Buds headphonestwo products that are packing their bags in France after a launch in India.
OnePlus Nord 2T
OnePlus wants to strengthen its Nord range to accompany its powerful OnePlus 10 Pro. This strategy goes through the North 2T which had already shown several signs of life in recent days. During its event, OnePlus finally confirmed the existence of this smartphone at the pretty solid spec sheet.
Version T obliges, this OnePlus Nord 2T is reminiscent in many respects of the Nord 2 (read our test). Its size is comparable with dimensions of 159.1 x 73.2 x 8.2 mm for a weight contained under the bar of 200 g (190 grams). This new model features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display displaying a Full HD+ definition with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Certified HDR10+, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Inside, the rumors are confirmed with the presence of a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC. Presented in April, this mid-range chip is 5G compatible and comes with an ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. We also find 8 GB to 12 GB of RAM and of 128 GB to 256 GB of storage in UFS 3.1. On the photo side, the Nord 2T offers us a triple module composed of a Sony IMX766 main sensor of 50 megapixels (f / 1.8); an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (120°, f/2.2) and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) depth module. At the front, we are entitled to a 32 megapixel sensor (f / 2.4).
The device can shoot up to 4K at 30 frames per second. To power the smartphone, OnePlus incorporates a 4,500 mAh (2 x 2,250) battery compatible with the 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.
OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G
The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G presents itself as an even more accessible variant. This smartphone, already available in other countries, offers a 6.59 inch LCD screen displaying in Full HD+. The refresh rate of the panel increases to 120Hz.
Under the hood, the Nord CE 2 Lite has a chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 ensuring 5G compatibility. The smartphone adds 6 GB of RAM and a space of 128 GB internal storage, with a microSD slot. It also carries a 5000mAh batteryfast charging compatible SuperVooc at 33W. Despite its rather generous accumulator, the device is limited to 195 grams for dimensions of 164.3 x 75.6 x 8.5 mm.
The photo is not left out with once again three modules on the back of the device. A main sensor of 64 megapixels (f / 1.7) accompanies two sensors of 2 megapixels each (f / 2.4). The first is dedicated to the macro while the second deals with depth management. A front camera of 16 megapixels (f / 2.0) is also present.
The two representatives of the Nord range run on OxygenOS 12.1; an overlay based on Android 12.
Smartphone prices and availability
the OnePlus Nord 2T arrives in France from 429 euros in 8+128 GB version. Count 529 euros for the variant with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
More accessible, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is displayed in a single version (6 + 128 GB) at 319 euros.
The OnePlus Nord Buds: the icing on the cake?
To accompany its two new smartphones, OnePlus has also formalized the Nord Buds headphones. Those very affordable true wireless can rely on 12.4 mm drivers; as well as on a Dolby Atmos certified. On the other hand, they ignore active noise reduction and are content with 4 microphones. The brand nevertheless promises clear calls and unwanted background noise filtered out. For this, the Nord Buds use “noise reduction algorithms based on artificial intelligence” and a design that’s supposed to reduce wind noise.
On the autonomy side, the OnePlus Nord Buds claim up to 7 hours of listening on a single charge. This generous autonomy is reinforced by the presence of a box to offer 30 hours of listening time in total. A quick charge provides 5 hours of battery life with 10 minutes of charging.
Finally, the headphones are IP55 certified and communicate via Bluetooth 5.2. The manufacturer promises low latency for these light intras; each earbud weighing 4.8 grams. The OnePlus Nord Buds arrive in France at a price of 59 euros.
