The German city of Essen may have narrowly escaped a far-right extremist terrorist attack, with a teenage suspect placed under custody on Friday, following the discovery of bomb-making materials in his possession. A formal arrest warrant was issued earlier in the day for the 16-year-old, on suspicion of preparing an attack on his high school this Friday, the public prosecutor’s office announced.
