Borderlands, the popular looter shooter series, is packed with pop culture references, Easter eggs, and memes in every installment. The fantasy spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is no exception. Finding legendary weapons, spells, rings and armor is always a fun opportunity to uncover hidden jokes. They are often hidden in the red text in the tooltip of a legendary item. This also applies to the armor “Blank Slate” – it alludes to Path of Exile.

Path of Exile in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Easter Egg Item
Blank Slate gives us next to no buffs, just increases our experience gained by ten percent, gives invented bonuses, and has red text like “Corrupted” and “Requires at least 1,500 clicks.” There are also variants that use the made-up word “Krangled” instead of “Corrupted” – and then the penny will drop at the latest: The item refers to a meme from Path of Exile, more precisely to a post from the official subreddit of the action RPG:
So many PoE references in one item from Wonderlands
Path of Exile is notorious for items having tons of modifiers that are gibberish to newcomers. A user had therefore taken the whole thing to the extreme and simulated a fake item that, among other things, still has the imaginary status “Krangled” (in PoE, items can also have mirrored, influenced, corrupted, enchanted, etc.). The fact that “Blank Slate” also has no protective or strengthening stats is a nod to the unique armor Tabula Rasa from PoE. It also has no stats, but is great for leveling thanks to the many free slots for skills. And Tabula Rasa is simply Latin for “blank slate”!
This goes with the XP bonus from “Blank Slate”. But what about the 1,500 clicks? Anyone who has played Path of Exile knows that your mouse will never thank you. Please don’t try to figure out what happens after 1,500 clicks – a Wonderlands fan did the work for you too. Nothing happens. It’s kind of krangled…
