Unveiled in September 2020, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was originally supposed to release in January last yearbut the first feedback from players was particularly negative, Ubisoft therefore decided to postpone the launch several times, then to entrust the development to its Montreal studio.

In the last news, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was therefore expected during the fiscal year 2022-2023i.e. between April 1, 2022 and March 30, 2023. Problem, Ubisoft didn’t mention the stock in its last financial statement, and now some players have recently noticed that it is no longer possible to pre-order the game at certain retailersas in GameStop across the Atlantic. What does that mean ? Well, sometimes it’s because of a game cancellation, but not here, as explained Ubisoft at IGN :

The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal. We are proud of the work done by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, and Ubisoft Montreal will benefit from their learnings as the new team continues the work to deliver an excellent remake.

Consequently, we are no longer targeting a launch for fiscal year 2023 and the game has been withdrawn from retailers. If players wish to cancel their pre-order, they are encouraged to contact their retailer. They will be kept informed of the project as development progresses.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is therefore not canceled, but it is now expected after March 30, 2023… Yes, it will be necessary to be very patient before finding the Prince of Persiayou can still pre-order the title at certain stores such as on Amazon, for €39.99but pay no more attention to the displayed release (placement) date.
