AMD has unveiled its most powerful PC processor, the Ryzen 7000.

It is based on the new Zen 4 architecture and 5nm process technology. The Ryzen 7000 offers 16 cores clocked at 5GHz and can be overclocked to 5.5GHz.

The company claims that the Ryzen 7000 is 31% faster at rendering 3D graphics in Blender than the top-end Intel Core i9-12900K processor.

In games, the speed boost should also be noticeable, as single-threaded performance has increased by 15% thanks to the Zen 4 architecture. In addition, the new processor has integrated RDNA 2 graphics.

Ryzen 7000 will only work with socket AM5 motherboards. These motherboards support DDR5, PCIe 5.0, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2, and up to 14 USB 3.x and USB-C ports up to 20Gbps.

AMD will release exact specifications for the new chip this summer. The Ryzen 7000 will go on sale in the fall. Then the official price will be known. [The Verge]
