Apple’s 24-inch iMac M1 is up to $200 off at Amazon

The latest 24-inch iMacs can not only add a speedy desktop to your home, but also a pop of color as well. A couple of those vibrant color options are $150 off right now at Amazon, bringing the desktop down to the best price we’ve seen. Both the pink and blue iMacs with an 8-core CPU, a 7-core GPU, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage are down to $1,150. For the pink model, you’ll see the full discount at checkout once the additional $100 coupon is applied, but the blue model is already listed at $1,150. And if you’d rather get the upgraded model with an 8-core GPU and 512GB of storage, the same color options are down to $1,500, which is $200 off and another record low.

Buy 24-inch iMac (256GB) at Amazon – $1,150Buy 24-inch iMac (512GB) at Amazon – $1,500

These iMacs make a bold statement in both style and performance. Apple’s M1 chipset provides a noticeable performance boost when compared to previous models, allowing the new desktops can handle everything from spreadsheet work to video editing to Apple Arcade gaming. We also love its 4.5K Retina Display with a 500-nit peak brightness because it makes photos and videos pop. Not only did Apple redesign the iMac to come in multiple fun colors, but the company also made it much thinner and lighter than before, too. Coming in at under 10 pounds, the iMac is pretty easy to move from room to room if need be.

The 24-inch iMac is a solid choice if you want an all-in-one machine that the whole family can use. There are a few drawbacks, of course, namely its lack of vertical screen adjustment and its reliance on two USB-C ports only. If you get the 8-core GPU model, you’ll get two additional USB-C ports as well, but that still means you’ll need a few adapters and dongles to use all of the accessories you may already have. At least all of these iMacs come with a color-matching Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard, so you’ll be able to use those peripherals immediately.

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 lineup is cheaper than ever right now

If you missed the sale at the end of last month, you have another chance to grab one of Samsung’s Galaxy S22 smartphones at their lowest prices yet. All three of the handsets have hit new record lows on Amazon: the Galaxy S22 is $125 off and down to $675, while the Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra are both $250 off and down to $750 and $950, respectively. And the previous offer on the Galaxy Buds 2 still stands — you can save up to $60 on a pair of the earbuds when you buy them along with the handset.

Buy Galaxy S22 Ultra at Amazon – $950Buy Galaxy S22+ at Amazon – $750Buy Galaxy S22 at Amazon – $675

Picking up the Galaxy S22 Ultra at under $1,000 is a great deal considering it has all of the latest features you can get on a Samsung phone. Marrying features of the Note family with the flagship S lineup, the Galaxy S22 Ultra sports a 6.8-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,750 nits. It also comes with a built-in S Pen, so Note lovers will be able to use the handset as a small notebook, jotting things down, doodling and the like. Samsung improved the latency to 2.8 milliseconds, so writing with the S Pen will feel even more natural than it did before.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra runs on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a triple rear camera array that includes a 108-megapixel main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide shooter and two 10MP telephoto lenses. We were impressed with the photos it took as well as Samsung’s host of photography improvements like better auto-framing and video stabilization, and new features like Adaptive Pixel.

Overall, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is one of the most impressive Android phones you can get right now. If you’re looking for the deepest discount, though, the Galaxy S22+ takes that title in this sale. Yes, both it and the S22 Ultra are $250 off, but that’s the equivalent of a 25 percent discount for the S22+ (and only a 21 percent discount on the S22 Ultra). We gave the S22+ and the standard S22 a score of 87 for their slick designs, strong performance and lovely displays. And with the S22+, you’ll get a few extra perks including slightly faster WiFi speeds, UWB and WiFi 6E support and a longer battery life.

If your daily driver is running low on space, an external drive will come in handy to either offload some of your important documents and files or act as your main storage device going forward. It’ll be even better if you spring for a portable drive, since you’ll be able to take it with you anywhere. One of SanDisk’s toughest portable SDDs, the Extreme Pro, has been heavily discounted on Amazon. The 1TB model is 42 percent off and down to $180, which is only $10 more than its all-time low.

We also like its durable design: it sports a forged aluminum chassis that has two-meter drop protection and an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance. All that’s to say your digital files will be safe even if the drive takes a tumble or gets splashed with water. It also comes with USB-C to C and USB-C to A cables, so you’ll be able to use it with nearly any machine you have, even if it’s on the older side.

SanDisk has a few other storage gadgets on sale right now that are worth considering. The 256GB Ultra Dual Drive Go USB-C flash drive is 34 percent off and down to just under $29, while the 128GB Ultra Luxe USB-A flash drive is nearly half off and down to just about $17. Finally, the 1TB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card that’s typically $200 is down to $122, which is 39 percent off its normal price and close to a record low.

Star Wars Instant Pots are up to 25 percent off for May the 4th

Today’s the day — May the 4th, or Star Wars Day, always brings good discounts on Star Wars merch and accessories each year. Amazon has a bunch of one-day-only deals celebrating the franchise, key among them being discounts on Star Wars-themed Instant Pots. Most models, including Stormtrooper, R2-D2 and Little Bounty, are 20 percent off and down to $80, but you can snag the adorable BB-8 model for only $60, which is 25 percent off its regular price.

If you or someone you know loves both Star Wars and cooking, this is the small appliance to get. All of the models on sale are six-quart Duo machines except for the BB-8 version, which is a three-quart Duo Mini Instant Pot. The larger ones support 14 cooking programs like pressure cook, slow cook, poultry, porridge, rice and more, while the Mini model has seven cooking modes.

Instant Pots have become almost ubiquitous for many reasons — not only can they replace a few other small appliances you may have in your kitchen, but they’re also fairly easy to clean and they don’t require a lot of oversight. Just dump your ingredients into the pot, choose your preferred cooking mode and let the machine do the rest of the work.

While we recommend a six-quart model for most people, don’t let the small capacity of the BB-8 model fool you. Individuals and couples can make full meals in that one and those with larger families can also use it to make side dishes, meal prep and more. Plus, it won’t take up too much space on your countertop — and we expect you’ll want it to live there so you can show off its Star Wars-themed design. If you want to pick one of these up, we recommend doing so soon. Some of Amazon’s discounts are only available today, and Star Wars Instant Pots have been known to sell out quickly.

Amazon knocks up to $280 off Roborock robot vacuums today only

A robot vacuum can be a big purchase for your home, depending on the model you get. While there are plenty of affordable machines out there, you’ll have to spring for a higher-end one if you want features like home mapping and stronger suction power. But you can save hundreds on some Roborock robot vacuums at Amazon right now thanks to a new one-day sale that knocks up to $280 off certain devices. You’ll get the highest discount on the Roborock S6 Pure, which is $280 off and down to $320, while the Roborock S7 is $170 off and down to $480. The cheapest of the bunch, the Roborock E4, is $140 off and down to a record low of $160.

Buy Roborock S6 Pure at Amazon – $320Buy Roborock S7 at Amazon – $480Buy Roborock E4 at Amazon – $160

The S6 Pure and the S7 are actually quite similar, but the S7 has a few additional perks. Like the S7+ that earned a spot in our best robot vacuum guide, the S7 has stronger, 2500PA suction, a larger water tank for mopping and an ultrasonic sound feature that identifies carpet so the machine can automatically adjust cleaning strength. Also, the S7 can be connected to a clean base, so you have the option in the future to add another level of convenience to your robo-vac. Otherwise, both the S6 Pure and the S7 support voice control with Alexa or the Google Assistant, full app control, home mapping, cleaning schedules and spot cleaning, too.

As for the Roborock E4, it’s on the more affordable side of things so it doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles of the other two. However, it does have the same 2000PA suction that the S6 Pure does, plus a more primitive form of home mapping. If you want to set specific cleaning areas and no-go zones, you’ll have to buy these magnetic strips that create “invisible walls” that the E4 can use as guides. It also doesn’t come with an additional water tank for mopping, but you can buy one separately and swap it out with the dustbin to turn the machine into a smart mop.

We’ve had mostly positive experiences when testing Roborock vacuums. The suck up dirt and debris just as well as other robo-vacs we’ve tried, and depending on the model you choose, you’ll get features like “pin and go,” which sends the vacuum to a specific spot in your home and in-app manual controls so you can control the vacuum almost like you would a toy car. Our biggest gripe is that the Roborock app isn’t as polished as that of competitors like iRobot and Shark. If you’re new to the world of robot vacuums, it may take some time to learn all of the ins and outs of the app. But once you do that, your Roborock vacuum should serve you well.
