Apple’s AirTag is back down to a record low on Amazon

While the four-pack of AirTags has been on sale for some time now, it’s been a while since we’ve seen one AirTag go on sale. Now, Amazon’s brought back the record-low price on a single pack, so you can grab one AirTag for only $24. That’s $5 off its normal price — that may not seem like much, but it’s a decent deal on an already affordable accessory.

If you’re unfamiliar, AirTags allow iPhone users to keep track of their things from within the Find My app. Much like AirPods, AirTags seamlessly pair with iPhones as soon as you take them out of the box, and from there you can label what the tracker is attached to like your keys, wallet or backpack. A big downside to AirTags when compared to competing trackers like those from Tile is that Apple’s devices don’t have built in keyring holes. That means you’ll have to buy a case or holder if you want to attach it to your keys.

After a quick setup process, you’ll be able to check the Find My app whenever you need to locate your stuff. AirTags can also emit a chime if you’re nearby, which should help you find your lost things a bit more easily. And if you have one of the latest iPhones, the Precision Finding feature can lead you directly to your stuff using on-screen instructions. Bluetooth trackers like these may not be as essential as your smartphone or even a smartwatch that you’ve grown attached to, but they will come in handy on the rare occasion that you misplace your belongings.

The newest Roku Ultra drops to a record low of $80

If you’d like to upgrade your dad’s TV setup for Father’s Day, you can snag Roku’s latest set-top box at its best price yet. The 2022 Roku Ultra is 20 percent off ahead of Father’s Day, dropping it down to $80. That’s a solid deal for the streamer that just came out just last month and includes a new voice remote, among other improvements. It’s also worth noting that the Roku Streambar remains on sale for $99, which is one of the best prices we’ve seen.

Roku didn’t mess with the Ultra’s box this time around, but rather it focused on adding features to the new Voice Remote Pro. The accessory comes bundled with the Ultra and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for private listening, two programmable shortcut buttons and a mic-disable button. The latter refers to the remote’s hands-free voice control feature, which allows you to say “Hey Roku” to initiate a command. You can then ask the device to show you horror movies, sitcoms or pull up the latest episode of Stranger Things. You can even say “Hey Roku, find my remote,” and it’ll force the remote to play a sound so you can locate it more easily. We also appreciate that the Voice Remote Pro is rechargeable via microUSB, which means you won’t have to scramble to get new disposable batteries when it starts running low.

As for the set-top box itself, it’s remains largely unchanged from the 2020 Ultra. It still has 4K HDR10+ streaming capabilities and supports both Dolby Vision and Atmos. It also has AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth support, plus a handy selection of ports: a power jack, an HDMI out port, an Ethernet jack and one USB port. While the 2022 Ultra has up to 50 percent better WiFi range, some will appreciate the Ethernet jack since it will allow you to hardware the device and get the best signal possible.

While the Roku Ultra is the company’s most powerful streaming device, the Roku Streambar is a good option if you want 4K streaming abilities along with a sound upgrade. We gave it a score of 86 for its compact size, solid audio quality and Dolby Audio support. It sounds leaps and bounds better than most built-in TV speakers, making it a good option for those that want a a streaming device that does a bit more than just play Netflix and Disney+.

Amazon knocks half off a Nintendo Switch Online and microSD card bundle

Amazon has brought back a good deal on a bundle that gives you a Nintendo Switch Online subscription plus a microSD card. Normally priced at $70, the pack is now down to $35 and includes a 12-month Switch Online Family membership (delivered via digital code) and a 128GB SanDisk microSD card that you can use with your console.

Nintendo has added a number of perks to the Switch’s subscription service over the years. Originally, it only provided online gaming, but now it includes cloud backups for gameplay data, access to a companion mobile app which lets you voice chat with friends while you play together and access to more than 70 NES and SNES titles that you can play any time. The membership that you’ll get in this bundle is great for large families, as it supports up to eight users, so this could be a good gift for dad for Father’s Day if he enjoys quality game-time with friends and everyone else in his household.

As for the microSD card you’re getting, it’s arguably a necessity for Switch owners. The console’s built-in 64GB of storage won’t get you very far if you’re primarily getting your games digitally, so expanding with a microSD card is critical. SanDisk makes a bunch of compatible cards and this 128GB model supports read speeds up to 100 MB/s and write speeds up to 90 MB/s. If you already have a Switch Online membership, you can actually pick up the microSD card on its own for less right now, as it’s down to a near record-low of $21.

The Pixel 6 Pro earned a score of 91 from us and we consider it to be one of the best Android phones you can get. Its two-toned design with the horizontal camera bar may be polarizing, but it’s also striking and pretty slick. The 6 Pro has a 6.7-inch, 120Hz display that will automatically adjust refresh rates depending on what you’re doing. It also has an under-display fingerprint sensor that, while a tad slow, provides an extra layer of security. The 6 Pro runs on Google’s Tensor Processing Unit and we found it to provide excellent performance overall. Along with its strong performance, you can expect an equally strong battery life from the handset. We managed to get over 17 hours of use before needing to power up again.

One of the stand-out features of Google’s Pixel smartphones is the camera array, and that remains the case for the Pixel 6 Pro. It has a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 48MP telephoto shooter with a 4X optical zoom. These cameras work together to take lovely photos that are on-par with those taken by the iPhone 13 Pro’s camera array. Android 12 also brings a number of handy photography features including Magic Eraser, Face Unblur, Long Exposure and more.

Yes, you could save even more money and opt for the Google Pixel 6, but you’d be forging the 6 Pro’s 120Hz screen, telephoto camera and ultra wideband chip in the process. If you’ve had your eye on a Pixel phone for some time, now’s a good opportunity to pick up the best model available right now for less.

A robot vacuum can take one chore off your hands, and now you can grab one of iRobot’s most affordable machines for less. The Roomba 694 robot vacuum is back down to $180, which is just about an all-time low (we’ve seen it $1 cheaper in the past). That’s $94 off, making it a great deal if you’ve had your eye on a robo-vac for a while but have been hesitant to drop a lot of money on one.

The Roomba 694 is one of iRobot’s most basic machines, but don’t let that fool you. It earned a spot on our list of favorite affordable robot vacuums thanks to its good cleaning power and easy to use companion app. Its three-stage cleaning system and dual multi-surface brushes do a good job sucking up dirt and debris on both carpeted and hard floors, and it has sensors that can detect furniture and “cliffs” (stairs, really) so it can avoid or maneuver around those obstacles.

You can control the robo-vac via its on-device buttons or from within the iRobot mobile app, and when it has finished cleaning your home, it’ll automatically return to its charging base to power up. Even if you’ve never used a robot vacuum before, you’ll likely be able to learn the ins and outs of the iRobot mobile app pretty easily. It’ll be your portal for doing things like setting cleaning schedules, checking the status of your machine and more. And if you have an Alexa or Google Assistant smart speaker in your home, you can use voice commands to control the Roomba 694.

Most people will find all of their semi-autonomous vacuuming needs met by the Roomba 694, but if you want to splurge, the Roomba j7+ is also on sale right now for $589. That’s $210 off its regular rate and a new record low. The j7+ is one of iRobot’s newest machines and its first “pet poop-detecting” robot vacuum. It has advanced obstacle avoidance which should allow it to avoid unexpected things on your floors, including a robo-vac’s arch nemesis: pet poop. It also comes with a clean base into which the machine will automatically empty its dustbin after each job.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 drop to a new record-low price

Samsung fans looking for a new pair of wireless earbuds can get a couple of the company’s latest models for less. Amazon has the Galaxy Buds 2 in graphite and olive at the lowest price we’ve seen — just $95, which is $55 off their usual rate. If you prefer earbuds with a more power and perks, the Galaxy Buds Pro in phantom violet are also down to a new low of $120, which is $80 off their normal price.

Both of these wireless earbuds came out last year, with the Galaxy Buds 2 being the newer of the two. Samsung brought a number of premium features down to these relatively affordable earbuds, including adjustable ambient sound mode and wireless charging. The Buds 2 are 15 percent smaller and 20 percent lighter than the Galaxy Buds+ that came before them, plus they have much improved sound and an IPX2-rated design. Just keep in mind that the Buds 2 don’t have any iOS integration — while you could use them with an iPhone, you’d be stuck with thee default settings. Those with Samsung handsets will get the most out of these buds.

Same goes for the Galaxy Buds Pro, which we dubbed Samsung’s best earbuds yet when they first came out. Normally $200, these are the company’s direct competitor to the AirPods Pro and they hold their own against Apple’s offering. Sound quality is excellent and ANC is strong enough to block out surrounding noises like those from a fan or running dishwasher. The Buds Pro also have an IPX7-rated design and support for 360 Audio and wireless charging. If you’re on a tight budget, we recommend opting for the Galaxy Buds 2, but if you can spend a bit more, you’ll appreciate the extra perks that come with the Galaxy Buds Pro.

Outfitting your home with smart devices can get expensive quickly, but now you can grab some Google Nest devices for less. A smart thermostat is a good way to keep track of how you use energy in your home and hopefully save money in the long run. Google’s Energy Star-certified device learns your preferences over time and will build an energy schedule around your routines. It’ll learn how warm or cool you like to keep your home so it can automatically adjust temperatures depending on the time of day or even when you’re home or away. Google’s smart doorbells do exactly what you think: let you see who’s at your front door before you answer it. The device can send you alerts when you have visitors and you can chat with them from the companion smartphone app and the device’s built-in mic and speakers. These gadgets also have “intelligent alerts,” which just means they’ll be able to differentiate when you have a visitor, a delivered package or an animal sighting outside your home. You can either opt for the hardwired version or the battery-operated model, the latter of which runs on a rechargeable battery that should last up to six months before it need more juice.
