V Rising has had an impressive Early Access launch with 1 million copies sold and 150,000 concurrent users in its first weekend. Developers Stunlock Studios give an outlook on the plans for the young Steam hit.
A journey without a fixed destination
But success doesn’t last forever and there’s a lot to do, especially with a game in Early Access – Stunlock Studios knows that too.
“The release of V Rising has been met with overwhelming support and we can’t thank you enough for joining us on this journey… and it will be a journey,” reads a new one developer update.
“Opening Early Access is the first step on the misty road to the game’s full release,” the team said. “Many journeys have a set path, a road, with a clear destination. While we have our sights firmly set on our goal for V Rising, our path isn’t entirely mapped out.”
In order to make the journey as safe as possible, the studio’s current focus is “on fixing bugs, making balance changes, optimizing the servers and improving the quality of life.”
Data as the basis for the V-Rising master plan
First, all the data and feedback from the first few weeks of early access should be analyzed, and the results will then result in the “master plan” for the future of V Rising.
“We’re already working on new material to bring more life to Vardoran, but improving the game is more than just adding more content to what we already have,” it says.
V Rising is designed to “reach its full potential” and the game can only do that if the team finds out what matters most to its players. Extensive updates are planned, but Stunlock prefers to do without many small patches.
Other V Rising news:
One step back to take a leap forward
“It’s still too early to tell when the first major V Rising content patch will be released as we will give it the time to ensure it brings something new to the experience. That will require more patience from you as fans require!”
The studio already gives a few hints about the first patch: “We can promise you something very special for 1.0! There will be more weapons that you can use, more loot that you can loot and more magic that you can summon .” There should also be more V-Bloods with new challenges, new lands and opportunities for improvement for the castle.
You have to wait a little for a new update from the developers. How long exactly? We do not know that. But Stunlock is back with “new dark designs for fall and beyond”.
