The largest IT fair in the world, Computex was recently held in Taiwan. AMD has let it rip, Nvidia on the other hand not really. But also other smaller hardware manufacturers. That’s why we’re offering you a Computex special today on all the important announcements made at the computer fair.

Important: Santi gave the current status on Ryzen 7000 TDP versus PPT in the video shot on Wednesday. AMD then did a U-turn on the holiday and still confirmed the TDP of up to 170 watts (up to 230 watts PPT). We couldn’t take that into account during the shoot, but we marked the statements accordingly in the video and refer to them article.

Nvidia Keynote

Nvidia’s keynote at Computex 2022 was more of a disappointment to gamers than a brief announcement, focusing on big ideas like AI training and enterprise data centers and cloud gaming. Unfortunately, there is no new information about Nvidia’s new graphics card generation “Lovelace”. Nvidia didn’t go home completely empty: Together with Asus, they announce the first gaming monitor with 500 Hz. That would be a new refresh rate maximum for gaming monitors.

AMD Keynote

AMD has trumpeted new interesting details about Ryzen 7000: The release should be in autumn, not only from the new CPU generation, but also from the new AM5 platform. Exact clock speeds for specific Ryzen 7000 CPUs have not yet been promised, but in a gameplay demo using Ghostwire Tokyo, a 16-core pre-production CPU ran between 5.31 and 5.52 GHz – in Lisa Su’s presentation then the 5.5 GHz officially communicated. Overall, there should be a total of 15 percent higher single-thread performance compared to Zen 3. Ryzen 7000 should not only score in gaming, like the Ryzen 7 5800X3D recently. In the Blender Timelapsed demo, a 16-core Zen 4 is up to 31 percent faster than a Core i9-12900K.

Corsair Voyager

Corsair unveiled its first gaming laptop at Computex. The Corsair Voyager a1600 offers a particularly flat 1.8 mm case and a 16-inch QHD display, which has a frame rate of 240 Hertz – AMD Freesync included. An AMD Radeon RX 6800M graphics card and an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS round off the powerful overall package.
