Last year, Bethesda surprised by confirming that it was working on a new game in the iconic Indiana Jones series. Despite being part of Microsoft, this title might not be exclusive to Xbox.

Since Microsoft took over Bethesda, it’s been an open secret that upcoming games like Starfield or The Elder Scrolls VI should only be released exclusively for PC and Xbox – after all, Microsoft also let the developer studio spend a few billion dollars. It is therefore quite a surprise that things could turn out differently for Indiana Jones, who is also in the works.

Last year, Bethesda surprised us all when they confirmed work on a new Indiana Jones at developer MachineGames. Apart from a teaser clip, however, very few details were revealed about the title, but it was generally assumed that Indy would only swing his whip on the Xbox because of the Microsoft affiliation.

Featuring Jez Corden from Windows Central However, a well-known leaker and insider is now speaking up, questioning exactly that. When asked about a possible Xbox exclusivity, the well-connected Cortez replies in the Xbox Two Podcast simply that Indiana Jones will not be that – in other words: not exclusively for the Xbox.

Due to the large amount of correctly leaked information, Cortez’s statement has weight, even if there is no official information on the subject. However, he limits it to the extent that he had heard exactly this information “a long time ago” and that this could have changed in the meantime.

After all: In contrast to Starfield, for example, PS5 gamers can at least have hopes for the new Indiana Jones. It is quite possible that Bethesda has been planning the game for some time and had already secured a platform deal before the Microsoft takeover. However, we will only know with certainty which platforms the new Indiana Jones will be for when Bethesda expresses itself.
