Anyone who wants to push a little more passengers into their Defender can now be happy that 90 and 110 will be joined by the version 130. It is 34 centimeters longer, has a third row of seats and room for up to eight people. When all the seats are folded up, the luggage compartment is minimal, but if you fold the second and third rows, the space is really swallowed with gadgets. The third row has seat heating, its own sunroof and on the optional list there is also a climate system with four zones so that everyone will be satisfied. If you just want the extra space, you can also order 130 with only five seats.

130 also gets a new paint alternative that is only offered for this version and it is called Sedona Red. Under the hood, three different mild hybrid alternatives are offered and these are the diesel D300 and the petrol engines P300 and P400. All three are straight sixes, whether it will also be offered the V8 for this remains to be seen.

The price tag starts at 73,895 pounds and the order books now open.

Jaguar Land Rover will make hydrogen-powered Defender

Will start testing at the end of the year

Jaguar Land Rover is developing a version of its Defender model with hydrogen-powered fuel cells. The model will be part of what Jaguar Land Rover is working on during its so-called “Project Zeus”, a program where they work on developing hydrogen-based drive systems for their cars. The hydrogen-powered Defender model is part of the company’s work to achieve zero emissions from its car exhaust by 2036 and become completely carbon neutral by 2039. Jaguar’s fuel cell manager Ralph Clague says of the new venture: “We know hydrogen has a role to play in the future powertrain mix across the whole transport industry, and alongside battery electric vehicles, it offers another zero tailpipe emission solution for the specific capabilities and requirements of Jaguar Land Rover’s world class line-up of vehicles. The work done alongside our partners in Project Zeus will help us on our journey to become a net zero carbon business by 2039, as we prepare for the next generation of zero tailpipe emissions vehicles. ” The hydrogen-powered Defender model is under development now and Jaguar Land Rover hopes to start testing it in the UK sometime around the end of the year.

New Land Rover Defender V8 in Bond version

Inspired by No Time To Die

The upcoming James Bond roll No Time To Die contains not only well-made actors but also many product placements. Land Rover is in a real corner and to draw further attention to this, they are now presenting a 007 version of the new Defender V8. Only 300 pieces will be produced and you can get it as a “long” 110 or “short” 90. The inspiration comes of course from the film and all cars are really black everywhere except the caliper which is blue. You get a Defender 007 emblem on the tailgate, a 007 logo that lights up the ground and another start screen on the infotainment system. Under the hood, it is unchanged, which means a V8 of 5.0 liters that delivers 525 horses and 625 newton meters in turn. 0-100 km / h should go in 4.9 seconds and the top speed is set at 240 km / h. In addition to the new Defender, we will also see the Range Rover Sport SVR, Range Rover Classic and Land Rover Series III in the film, which has its cinema premiere on 30 September.
