It is almost two years since Google launched the 2020 variant of Chromecast in selected countries. New for the device was that it could be controlled with a remote control and provided cheap access to Google TV, the company’s own interface where you can access content from various apps and streaming services.

Chromecast with Google TV was strangely not released in Sweden, but has been available for gray import. Now, however, after a long wait, it is on its way to official sales channels and can be obtained over the counter from 21 June. The unit can be pre-ordered today on the Swedish Google Store for SEK 769.

In addition to the remote control (which can be voice controlled with Google Assistant) and Google TV, the device works like any previous Chromecast. Plug the streaming puck into any HDMI port on the TV and stream content in 4k HDR at 60 frames per second. We will test the product soon, so stay tuned.
