Mark Gurman, in the latest issue of his weekly Power On newsletter, announced what he expects at WWDC 2022. According to a Bloomberg journalist, the new MacBook Air is the most likely candidate for an announcement at the upcoming presentation.
In the meantime, Apple will hold off showing the mixed reality headset, according to Gurman. Development of the device is in full swing and there was a recent board demo, but a full-blown presentation to consumers and content creators is not coming soon.
Gurman previously reported that the headset’s launch is likely to be delayed until 2023 due to a host of technical issues, including at least one chip overheating, as well as poor camera and software performance.
As for the announcement of the MacBook Air, Apple planned to present some kind of announcement related to the Mac at WWDC 2022. But supply chain issues seem to have made things more difficult. The recent production crisis due to Covid and the subsequent closure of factories in China could affect the company’s plans.
