May 30, 2013: Apple is celebrating the sale of its 100 millionth iPod Touch with a budget-priced new model. Although the functionality of the new music player does not reach its brothers with a memory capacity of 16 GB, but the low cost and the presence of a good selfie camera make it attractive to users of the younger generation. This model of a portable media player was sold at a budget price of $229.

By this time, the iPhone had long overtaken the iPod in terms of sales, but overcoming the 100 million milestone demonstrated huge customer loyalty to this product line.

Specifications of the budget iPod Touch

The model released was not a next-generation product, as it was simply a slightly updated 2012 iPod Touch with less storage, no color options, and a 5-megapixel primary camera. The music player was equipped with a 4-inch Retina display, A5 dual-core processor, EarPods, and a Lightning connector. The front 1.2-megapixel HD camera allowed you to take photos with a resolution of 1280 × 960 and shoot video.

This iPod Touch came out during a period of selfie shooting and the presence of a selfie camera in the new device was a great marketing advertisement for Apple. Thanks to the A5 chip, owners of this iPod touch could take advantage of the ever-growing catalog of cheap mobile games in the App Store, which young users quickly appreciated.
