For its very first participation in the Foire de Paris, Amazon honors the made in France.
Best known for its global marketplace and its ultra-fast deliveries, the Amazon company wants to prove to the world that it also relies on the local. It was at the Foire de Paris that GAFAM set up its boxes this morning. Until next Monday May 9, the web giant will host a stand in the heart of the French Innovation and Creation village (Pavilion 2.2 Stand H032) every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The opportunity to highlight French designers, but also to impose itself on a sector where no one really expects it.
Amazon and made in France
The company is not exactly known for its fair play towards small traders. This week, Arcep even shared a public consultation on its proposal for a minimum rate for the cost of sending new books. Objective, establish minimum shipping costs, and allow independents to do well against the e-commerce giant.
However, Amazon regularly plays the made in France card. On its French site, a corner is dedicated to local creators. The company no doubt hopes to play on all fronts, and to establish itself both with the big brands and with the smaller onesdeveloping a proposal similar to that of Etsy.
This year at the Foire de Paris, the curious will be able to count on several very local VSEs and SMEs. On the official Amazon stand, it will thus be possible to find La Petite Fabrique Provençale, My local delicatessen, La French Baguette, Monsieur BARBIER, L’Artisan Du Cristal, Ecoiffier, Lumii, and many others. French innovations already available on the company’s merchant site, and which sometimes struggle to assert their visibility in the face of major brands.
See you from today until May 9 at the Foire de Paris to discover the Amazon stand made in France.
