IT House May 30 news, Barnes & Noble’s next-generation affordable e-reader Nook GlowLight 4e, priced at $119.99 (about 806.33 yuan), is available for pre-order today, which is $30 more than Amazon’s cheapest Kindle , but it’s $20 cheaper than Amazon’s hottest Paperwhite, and unlike Amazon’s offering, there are no ads that you have to pay to avoid.
The Nook GlowLight 4e charges via USB-C, has 8GB of built-in storage, and a 6-inch 212 ppi E Ink display with backlighting. That’s better than the $89.99 Amazon Kindle’s 6-inch 167-ppi display.
The Nook GlowLight 4e has page-turn buttons on the left and right bezels, eliminating the need to operate on the E Ink display, a feature both Amazon and Kobo have reserved for pricier products.
In terms of battery life, Barnes & Noble says the GlowLight 4e can run for “several weeks” on a single charge. The reader also has a built-in anti-glare screen protector that resists scratches.
IT Home has learned that the Nook GlowLight 4e is open for pre-order and will ship on June 7.
