Apple has revised down its production plan for the upcoming iPhone 14 series, which will see the light of day this fall. And there are several reasons for this, says Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

WhatsApp ends support for iPhone on iOS 10 and 11

If the company originally planned to release at least 240 million new smartphones this year, now it has decided to reduce production by 20 million to 220 million units. The ongoing global shortage of electronic components has played a role in this decision, exacerbated by new quarantine restrictions in China due to COVID-19. In addition, the company decided not to pin too much hope on future iPhones, since this will be a minor update and new models will not be very different from last year’s iPhone 13 series.

It is noted that even not all iPhone 14 models will transfer even to the new Apple processor. So, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will be based on last year’s A15 Bionic chipset, and the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, although they will receive a new A16 processor, but it will be made according to the old technical process.
