What is the first-person MP shooter Marauders about?

With Marauders, Team17 and Small Impact Games have a more than interesting space shooter in the works. The game is scheduled to start Steam Early Access in 2022, but those who want to get involved earlier can do so as part of a closed alpha that will take place from May 4th to 9th. Access is granted to everyone who joins the Marauders official website preorder. In addition to the alpha, there will also be a closed beta at a later date, and the cosmetic “Space Pirate Pack” and a 10 percent discount are available for pre-orders on top of that.

Marauders combines well-known concepts into a special shooter experience

For Marauders, the developers have created their very own aesthetic, which they call Dieselpunk. Although the shooter takes place in space, and accordingly there are some modern technologies in the universe, everything still seems a bit like yesterday. Why? Because Marauders is set in an alternate universe of the 1990s. The First World War never ended, and the earth was exploited to the point of being uninhabitable by unbridled industrialization.

So people went into space. Here players take on the role of mercenaries, so-called “Maurauders”. These roam space to plunder vital resources.

And this is how it plays: In Marauders, players enter a battlefield in teams or individually, where they have to assert themselves against up to 15 other Marauders. With the loot collected on the massive spaceships, your own equipment can be improved. But the other teams (up to four players each) are also after the valuable resources.

You won’t find lasers or other gadgets in Marauders. Instead, use authentic weapons from the last century against human opponents and the AI. When the battle is over, in addition to the experience points you have earned, you can also take the equipment with you to modify weapons and your own spaceship.
