DeLorean introduced the Alpha5 electric car. There are branded seagull doors, but no flow condenser

DeLorean showed the first photos of the Alpha5 electric car and revealed some technical characteristics.

The design of the car is very different from the DMC-12, the only Delorean car that also starred in the Back to the Future trilogy. But the company has retained the legendary doors that lean up.

The Alpha5 has four seats, a touch screen to control vehicle functions and a digital instrument cluster. The time loop and flux capacitor from Back to the Future are missing from the new model.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.99 seconds. The company emphasizes separately that up to 88 mph (142 km/h) the car accelerates in 4.35 seconds. A 100 kWh battery is installed inside, which is enough for 480 km.

These are the characteristics of the basic configuration. The company is expected to show a powerful modification. In total, DeLorean plans to release 88 copies of the Alpha5.

The full presentation of the DeLorean Alpha5 will take place in August at the Contest of Elegance in Pebble Beach.

The modern DeLorean has nothing to do with the company that made the DMC-12 and went bankrupt in 1982. In 1995, the remaining assets of the DeLorean Motor Company, including the name and logo, were bought by mechanic Stephen Wine, after which he founded a new company. [Electrek]
