The completion of the Windows 11 version 22H2 is getting closer: The new insider version 22610, which was published on Friday evening in the developer and beta channel, no longer has a watermark and also contains many other references to the “finishing touches”.
In addition to the watermark, the expiration date has also been removed from this Insider version, which is primarily dedicated to bug fixes, the changelog lists over a hundred fixes.
Although these are only indications, I am reasonably certain that the 22H2 version is “Feature Complete”. But that’s not saying much either, because as we know, there are now many other ways to add new features to Windows 11. However, I would put a big question mark over whether the tabs in Explorer will come this year. I don’t think so.
The main changes in Insider Build 22610, in addition to the removal of SMBv1, are various new group policies that administrators can use to control the appearance of the start menu, taskbar and notification area. In addition, the task manager now uses the set accent color in the columns:
There was also a small change in the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer: The icons for properties and renaming a file have been slightly adjusted.
Even more refinement: The battery icon on the lock screen has been aligned with the one that can also be seen in the notification area. The latter now also shows the estimated remaining time when you point the mouse at it.
Last but not least, there was an update for the “Family Safety” widget: if activated by family members, it now shows their location, and the display for screen time has also been adjusted.
As usual, the full changelog is on the windows blog to find.
