Those in charge of Sony have formed a new team dedicated to preserving legacy PlayStation games. One of the employees is Garrett Fredley, who is a Senior Build Engineer at “Preservation Team” is involved and with the announcement of his new appointment Twitter provided a topic of conversation. After all, Sony hasn’t necessarily been known for preserving its classics in the past.

Why does Sony suddenly need such a team now?
