It’s time for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which starts on June 6 and lasts until June 10. It says that Apple will showcase the upcoming iOS 16 that has gone by the project name Sydney, and according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the new operating system will contain significant changes compared to its predecessor.

According to Gurman, one of many major changes will be the operating system’s lock screen, which will include “wallpapers” that will have a form of widgets to display information. There may also be a feature that was originally intended for Ios 15 – namely a lock screen that is always on to be able to display information, but with greatly reduced image update to save power. It is a feature that should be inspired by the similar feature found in modern Apple Watch models and for many years in a large number of Android mobiles. According to Gurman, it is both uncertain whether the function will be included, and possibly only for Iphone 14 Pro and Iphone 14 Pro Max.

Other details that Gurman addresses are things that have circulated like rumors before, such as a new front camera, new style of Face ID, the use of an A16 circuit, a 48 megapixel rear camera, and satellite connection for emergency messages.

According to Gurman, there will also be a lot of news in the health app without going into detail about what it may include, and that Messages will get a new style and new features that will make it more like a social network.

The Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off June 6-10 as a virtual event.
