It looks like the WhatsApp team is working on a feature that will allow users to follow the same account on different smartphones or tablets. A hint of this was discovered in the beta version of the application by the staff of the WABetaInfo website.

On the screenshot provided by the source, you can see the instructions for registering a device that will be used as a “companion” by scanning a QR code from the main smartphone. However, the code itself is not yet visible.

It is noted that after synchronization, all devices will be able to receive the latest messages, even if their correspondence is subject to end-to-end encryption.
