Germany’s Bundestag has approved the abolition of a special green energy charge on the bills of households and companies as of July, amid soaring energy prices worldwide. The approval was greeted by lawmakers as a decisive step towards cutting electricity prices, who described it as the largest reduction in decades. Others, however, warned that further steps were needed.
