Many players have therefore faced the same obstacle when extending their PS Plus or PS now subscription for a few days, according to the piles of messages left on ResetEra or on official PlayStation channels. The operation would simply be impossible, and indeed we weren’t able to complete it on our end either – we ended up with a systematic error message.
According to testimonials from various users who have contacted Sony customer service and which were relayed on VGC, it would be a temporary problem and the manufacturer would ask everyone to wait for the new PS Plus offers, which will arrive on June 22, to extend their subscription. Remember that on this date, PS Plus and PS Now will merge to become a single service, divided into three levels of services, which will include, depending on the offer chosen, a catalog of games and streaming.
If Sony has not yet officially confirmed anything, it could be a patch, aimed at correcting a flaw in the transition process from one generation of offers to another. The firm had indeed promised to transform PS Now subscriptions into a PS Plus Premium subscription – the highest grade of its new subscription – thus allowing players paying until then 59.99 euros per year to access a service which will cost 119.99 euros per year. Many Internet users had then rushed to PS Now gift cards, and had subscribed to the service for several years.
