Sega gives a tasty hint about a new project that the company plans to fully unveil next week.
Mega Hype for the Mega Drive?
On Sega’s Japanese Twitter account, the manufacturer shared an “urgent notice” about a new project to be presented on June 3 at 1:00 p.m. German time.
The (still) secret project will be presented on the official YouTube channel via live stream. Misuzu Araki is reportedly set to host the broadcast and will include performances by Hiroyuki Miyazaki and Yosuke Okunari.

As a small nod to the upcoming announcement, Sega shared a picture of a chocolate cake shaped like a Mega Drive controller. So the project may have something to do with Sega’s retro console. At least the cake was certainly not shared because it turned out so well.
This is supported by the planned appearance of Okunari, who is known for his work on retro re-releases for Sega. Next week we’ll be smarter and we can say with certainty what real treat the company has prepared for us.
