Although the GTA classic Vice City received an official remaster last year, a fan now shows how Unreal Engine 5 would have been even nicer.

As is well known, GTA Vice City was polished a bit last year as part of the “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition” along with other classics from the Rockstar Games series, whereby the optics were improved rather superficially and there were also problems. Just a few days ago, the “TeaserPlay” YouTube channel used GTA San Andreas as a template to impressively demonstrate the graphical potential of a full-fledged remake with the modern and up-to-date Unreal Engine 5.

A video about GTA Vice City from the channel was no less impressive recently Released in a significantly spruced-up remake guise, backed with the voice acting from the original game, including lines of text from the recently deceased actor and Tommy Vercetti spokesman Ray Liotta. The 80s setting celebrated by fans of the game series or Vice City as the setting is rumored to be a possible scenario for GTA 6.

The maker of the video tells us about the ambitions behind the unofficial concept trailer project according to dsogaming.com: “I used lumens to render. With this video I wanted to show how powerful the Unreal Engine 5 is for developing sandbox games. I also wanted to show what the remaster version of GTA Vice City should look like.

We recently explained the potential of Unreal Engine 5, which is still on the rise, in a PCGH Plus article on the graphics framework technology. In addition, there were already benchmarks for the well-known city demo of the engine, also with further explanations.
