Today we’ll talk about Destiny 2’s annual event: Guardian Games and how it’s going, we’ll break down the “Guardian Games Cup”, an IRL event related to the Guardian Games, and then we’ll end on a seasonal note. with the unveiling of some Season 17 weapons.

Destiny 2 – This Week at Bungie
Guardian Games
Destiny 2’s annual event returns this year and brings a little something new. For starters, the event starts this Tuesday, May 3 and ends May 24 at the dawn of Season 17. And of course, the Guardian Games are free for all players.
How does the event work?
Much like previous Guardian Games, participants will be tasked with depositing hard-earned medallions on the Tower podium.
Medallions can be earned by completing certain activities and mini-quests.
From higher level medallionswhich award more points, can be earned in activities such as raidsfrom dungeonsof Competitive PvP (Judgment of Osiris and Survival), seasonal activity (PsiOps Battlegrounds) on a higher difficulty, and more…
The lower level medallionscan be earned by Gambit, Assaults, single pvp (Domination, Elimination, etc…) and in the World-Throne at the standard difficulty level.
The gold medals can be earned by completing competitor cards in easier activities, while platinum medals fall when the platinum cards are supplemented in more difficult content.
Novelty
This year, the Guardian Games bring something new: the “Assault Score” which only counts your playtime in event playlists. There will be Assault medalsdesigned to reward players for achieving feats, such as eliminating lots of enemies.
- There will be two playlists: Coaching and Competition.
- the tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdaythe place where it will be necessary to be will be the Workout playlist. Here you will be able to earn practice scores (the combined score of your whole squad).
- the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Mondaythe playlist will change and be the Competitive Playlist. This is where you will earn some cool rewards.
- Players can earn buffs in the workout playlists and competitive ranking bronze, silver, gold or platinum. These last until the next weekly reset.
- You can use these buffs in the regular palylist Vanguard Operations.
Players will also be able to unlock torches to light in the tower based on their highest score after a certain threshold. For example :
- Lighting the bronze, silver, gold, and platinum torches grants rewards and a visible glow on the right shoulder of a Guardian’s armor.
New rewards
- The title : A new HAKKE Abyssal SMG sub-archetype that will only be available for the duration of the event.
The weapon is unique in its kind since it has a unique intrinsic feature that I let you discover when it comes out. You can already see the weapon on networks because it leaked.
Class items can also be earned, as well as the Exotic Thresher”Obvious Legacy” and its catalyst.
Finally, players in the top 10% at the end of the event will receive a new emblem.
Guardian Games Cup
The Guardian Games Cup is running alongside the Guardian Games, it’s a brand new out-of-game event created for a good cause.
- What is–what the Guardian Games Cup?
From May 3 through May 24, select streamers will team up across the globe, 42 teams across 14 total territories, competing to show off their coro.. Uhhh their love for their favorite Guardian. The top team will win a personalized digital coin of Gammatrap . The Guardian Games Cup will support a charity initiative with the Bungie Foundationand thanks to this, there will be prizes both in Destiny 2 and outside the game for participants to enjoy when donations are made to Direct-Relief . One of these prizes will include an artwork by PherianArt.
Season 17 Weapons
With the arrival of Season 17, the ritual weapon available will be the heavy machine gun “Chain of Command” Where “chain of command” in its original version.
Like previous seasons, this reputation-based reward will come with a unique ornament that depends on the vendor.

- Revolver
- Judgment of Osiris
- Gun
- Fusion Rifle
- The Pulse RifleThe messenger“and the PM”Wrath of Shayura” will leave the weapon pool starting in season 17.
Season 16 weapons will transition to standard loot pools with the revolver”Reverse Crisis” in the Trial, the automatic rifle “Herod-C “in the Vanguard’s Gambit and Shotgun”Fortissimo-11“.
