The developer Quantic Dream, responsible for the implementation of Star Wars Eclipse, published a statement on the work culture.
Since the announcement of Star Wars Eclipse, developer Quantic Dream has been looking for talented new employees. But apparently not everyone there seems to be interested in a job. Because, as we reported back in March, there are allegations of sexual harassment and poor working conditions.
As the company’s 25th anniversary approaches next month, Quantic Dream has now shared how they are actively engaging with their company practices to ensure the culture within the studio remains supportive, respectful and safe for each individual.
Quantic Dream now shared some of the facts and actions taken to further our commitment to a respectful, welcoming and supportive studio environment:
- We work with an LGBTQIA+ organization that advises us on the authentic representation of LGBTQIA+ characters, stories and themes in our games. Training sessions and brainstorming sessions have already started.
- Quantic Dream is committed to the Diversity Charter established by the French organizations SNJV (French Games Federation) and SELL (French Leisure Software Federation) and the government agencies DGE (Directorate General for Enterprise) and CNC (National Center for Film and Moving Image ) is promoted.
- We have brought in LGBTQIA+ representatives to ensure that diverse voices and authentic representations flow into everything we do and that a diversity of viewpoints are represented at all levels in the studio.
- We have and will continue to hire and nurture diverse talent, including within our writing team, to ensure we reflect the diversity of our audience and the games we want to create.
- Employees from the LGBTQIA+ community have been represented in the studio since its inception. Many of them have been with the company for ten or more years and occupy all positions and levels of responsibility.
- We welcome a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) leader to our team with a dedicated budget for DEI initiatives.
- More than 50% of our executives are women, including our production manager, our marketing VP, our sales manager, our communications manager, our HR manager, many project managers, producers and department heads. Our Equity Score (assessed by the French government) confirms the equality of salaries and equal treatment of women and men.
- Internal procedures allow all employees to report workplace issues anonymously through non-senior employees. Various channels, including dedicated digital spaces, are available to speak up, share ideas and raise concerns. In addition, anonymous surveys by independent companies specializing in human resources issues are regularly conducted within our team, so that everyone is free to voice their opinions or concerns.
