Germany’s Ralf Rangnick has been named the new coach of Austria on a contract initially to Euro 2024 in his homeland but will continue his intended consultancy role with Manchester United. “It is an honour for me to take on the role of team boss,” the 63-year-old Rangnick said in a statement Friday. Rangnick replaces Franco Foda, who stepped down after Austria were eliminated in the World Cup play-off semi-finals by Wales.
