A company called ConceptPix has developed a wireless mouse with a slightly odd design, a shape that the company says should be better for the user’s ergonomics when using the mouse.
The mouse is called “Horizontal Mouse” and is a bit reminiscent of the pastry Finnish sticks. According to ConceptPix, the user does not have to squeeze their mouse as much as traditional mice, which should make the mouse be considered kinder to the muscles in the hand. Furthermore, it is stated that their mouse does not strain the user’s wrist as much as traditional mice do during use.
Whether the ConceptPix Horizontal Mouse actually improves the user’s ergonomics can probably be discussed. If you are just looking for a small travel mouse to carry in your bag, then maybe it can be interesting regardless of whether it improves ergonomics or not. The mouse is currently funded on Kickstarter and costs 225 Hong Kong dollars, equivalent to about 260 Swedish kronor. Deliveries will start in June.
