During an Activision Blizzard extraordinary shareholder meeting, over 98% of shareholders approved the acquisition by Microsoft.

Activision Blizzard announces that its shareholders approved Microsoft Corporation’s offer to acquire Activision Blizzard at the company’s extraordinary shareholders’ meeting held yesterday.

Overall, more than 98% of shareholders at the special meeting voted in favor of the proposed transaction with Microsoft.

“The overwhelmingly positive vote from our shareholders confirms our shared belief that together with Microsoft we will be even better positioned to create great value for our players and even greater opportunities for our employees and remain focused on being an inspiring example for a welcoming, respectful and inclusive workplace,” said Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard.

Full results of the special meeting will be filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission early next week, upon confirmation by Activision Blizzard’s Inspector of Election.
