Following the release of Apple’s fiscal second quarter 2022 earnings report, Apple CEO Tim Cook gave an interview to CNBC in which he revealed some interesting details about the success of the iPhone.

During the quarter, iPhones poached a record number of Android users, Cook said. Speaking to CNBC, Apple’s CEO noted that the iPhone 13 life cycle has been “clearly a strong cycle” for the company.

iPhone revenue increased from $47.88 billion in the second quarter of 2021 to $50.57 billion in the current reporting period. The category grew by as much as 5% compared to last year.

Unfortunately, Apple does not disclose the exact number of iPhones sold, but the company said its active user base across all product categories hit a new all-time high in the second quarter of 2022.
