A few days ago, 343 unveiled Halo Infinite’s roadmap for the coming months. The first surprise of this roadmap was to see that Season 2, which will begin on May 3, will finally last 6 months instead of 3. This change of pace was necessary for the studio, which explains its decision in all transparency.

343 is honest

During the stream broadcast last Wednesday to reveal more details about Season 2, several members of the studio were gathered. Among them was Joseph Staten, the game’s Head of Creative, who wasn’t kind to Halo Infinite’s roadmap.

By discussing how the studio intended to bring new content, the priorities and the path that still remained to be covered before the experience lived up to the expectations of the community, he especially pointed out that no one at 343 was proud of the roadmap presented last week.

One thing should be clear: none of us at 343 are looking at this roadmap and happy with it. We all want to do things faster, deliver more content. You know, we always have this desire to get into a rhythm, a healthy rhythm, where we can ship a season every three months.

While this honesty is necessarily a good thing, it can also be quite surprising. As he explains during the sequence (around 17 min), the goal is above all to give the teams time to work in good conditions.

Remember that in addition to the content planned for Season 2, we were also treated to a first glimpse of the new features expected in Season 3, which should begin on November 8 with new game modes and new maps on the program.
