Hunger Games soon to return to the cinema with a new film

The Hunger Games is undeniably one of those sagas that will have marked the 2010s, where young teenagers were still fond of dystopian novels of all kinds. At that time, The labyrinth and Divergent had also had the right to similar success, and series of books like this, we saw new ones every month.

Although this type of story is increasingly disappearing in favor of more political and topical productions such as Squid Game. The universe ofThe Hunger Games has not yet said its last word and is preparing to make its big comeback.

While in 2020 a new novel was released The Hunger Games acting as a prequel to the original trilogy, the production company Lionsgate announced the film adaptation of this new opus of the successful dystopian saga. This will be arriving soon.

From mockingjay to songbird

The story of Katniss and the Hunger Games ended in 2010 with the release of the third volume entitled The revolt. But as these adventures took place after the 74th and 75th editions of the Hunger Games, it was still possible to explore 73 years of Panem’s history, the nation of this universe. This is the direction then taken by the author of the books, Suzanne Collins, to write The Walk of the Serpent and the Songbird. This prequel to his universe tells the youth of the tyrannical president of Panem: Snow.

Before taking on this role and becoming the villain that Hunger Games fans love to hate, Coronialus Snow had a surprising past, which explains his future rivalry with Katniss. Indeed, during the tenth edition of the Hunger Games putting in place for the first time the mentor system for the tributes, the young man of the Snow family then finds himself designated as a mentor for a young girl from District 12…

The book allows you to relive the stress and fear of these unfair games, while discovering a new side to a familiar character, as well as new details about the origin of Panem and its political system. This adaptation directed by Francis Lawrence who had already been in charge of the adaptation ofHunger Games – Catching Fire and The Revolt Part 1 and 2 promise to be a strong comeback in the dystopian universe created by Suzanne Collins.

For now, the cast has still not been revealed but fans can take comfort with the announcement of the film’s release date, which will land in theaters on November 17, 2023.
