IT House April 29 news, according to MacRumors, some Mac Studio users have noticed that their machines are emitting sounds that appear to be coming from fans.High-pitched “woohoo” soundand appears to have affected many users.
Most of the complaints reportedly came from M1 Max version Mac Studiobut not the Ultra version, users who experienced problems described the noise as a high-frequency sound that was difficult to ignore, and was different from fan noise.
There is definitely an annoying noise at 2120Hz (I used a sine wave generator for comparison). I’m pretty sure the noise is coming from the fan and not the whine from the coil, as the frequency changes with the speed of the fan.
IT Home has learned that the M1 Max and M1 Ultra versions of Mac Studio haveDifferent cooling designsthe M1 Ultra comes with a larger passive heatsink, so the fans will start less often.
It is worth noting that not all M1 Max Mac Studios have encountered this problem. For users who are unfortunate, they can apply for a return and exchange as soon as possible. Apple has not yet responded to this complaint.
