Sony expects to have 20 game titles ready for the launch of Playstation VR2, at least Sony themselves say so during a presentation to investors. According to Sony’s footage, one of these will be the Horizon spin-off Horizon Call of the Mountain.
However, we still do not know when the headset itself will actually be released, in February 2021 Sony announced that work was underway on the headset and the same month this year they showed what the device will look like. We know that PS VR2 will be equipped with an OLED screen with a resolution of 2000×2040 per eye, support refresh rates up to 120Hz and can be connected to the console with a single USB-C cable.

Sony and Playstation surprise on Tuesday afternoon by showcasing the design of the upcoming Playstation VR 2. The PS VR sequel comes with a new design with slightly rounder edges and white casing, which makes it more similar to the Playstation 5 and Dualsense control. In addition to a new design, the headset comes with some improvements such as the ability to adjust the lenses, new ventilation design and lower weight. We will be able to connect the headset itself directly to the Playstation 5 with a single USB-C cable, which is considerably more convenient than having to fiddle with an adapter. As previously known, PS VR 2 will offer 4K resolution with HDR, inside out-tracking, haptic feedback in the headset and new PS VR2 Sense controls that will deliver the same button experience as the Dualsense control. We have not yet received a release date, but hopefully it will not be long before Sony presents this.
