According to a new rumor, 2K Games is working on a free-to-play competitor for Rocket League with Tron-like bikes.

Rocket League enjoys a kind of monopoly at times as there is little to no competition for this particular niche. But the developers at 2K Games apparently intend to change that!

A game is rumored to be in development with the tentative name “Gravity Goal” carries. Similar to Rocket League, this game is about scoring goals with vehicles. However, there are significant differences between the two games.

In Gravity Goal, players ride motorcycles that Lightcycles by Tron should be very similar, instead of the little car speedsters in Rocket League. In addition, the game arguably adopts a slightly more offensive stance, as you can also throw discs to slow down your opponent or damage their bike.

The matches are carried out in 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3, as with the scurrying competitor. A futuristic graphic style with a lot of bright LEDs is supposed to round it off.

According to the rumor all this information is based on, the game is for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in development. There was supposedly a closed alpha test at the end of last year, which could speak for an announcement in the next few months.

As with all rumors in the video game world, you should view all this information with some skepticism and wait for official information.
