According to people familiar with the matter,The change will reduce BMW’s battery costs by 30 percent. The insider also said:The energy density of the new BMW batteries will be at least a low double-digit percentage higher than Tesla’s round batteries, but provided no further details. That could help BMW make electric cars with longer range than Tesla.
IT House has learned that currently, BMW buys batteries from CATL and EVE Energy, South Korea’s Samsung SDI and Sweden’s Northvolt.
