Google has finally added support for hotkeys for copying and pasting files in the Google Drive service, but only when using the Chrome browser.

Strikingly, even in 2022, the browser-based version of Google Drive does not recognize the standard clipboard functions, despite supporting many other keyboard shortcuts to perform multiple actions on selected items.

Chrome users can now use the standard ⌘+C/Ctrl+C, ⌘+X/Ctrl+X, and ⌘+V/Ctrl+V to copy, cut, and paste files in Google Drive. You can move files and folders between multiple browser tabs.

In addition, Google has added the ability to open files or folders in a new tab using the ⌘+Enter/Ctrl+Enter keys.
