Since the eastern-based House of Representatives (HoR) chose a new prime minister to lead the interim government in February fears of a power struggle in Libya have grown. The Tobruk-based parliament chose Fathi Bashagha to replace the UN-backed Government of National Unity’s leader Abdulhamid Dbeibah, deepening divisions between rival factions.
