The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for 13 counties in New Jersey because a cold front that will be drifting across the state is expected to trigger strong storms with damaging winds, heavy downpours and small hail Friday afternoon and Friday evening. The watch was issued shortly before 1 p.m. and will remain effective until 7 p.m. Friday in the following counties: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Morris, Salem, Somerset, Sussex and Warren.
