Has soon drawn in a breathtaking 3 billion bucks!
A whole bunch of you wanted to win movie tickets to Sonic The Hedgehog 2 when we ran a contest on April 1st. It was no joke, and now we understand a little better why the pressure was so great. The film has raised almost SEK 3 billion worldwide, which makes it the most lucrative video game film ever.
It is the film site Deadline that reports the success figures, but it is still unclear how things have gone in Sweden:
“The international Sonic 2 cume is now $ 142M for $ 287.8M global meaning the little blue critter will zoom past $ 300M any day now. Leading the charge for Sonic are the UK ($ 26.3M), Mexico ($ 15.7M), France ($ 14.3 M), Australia ($ 13.1M) and Brazil ($ 8.9M). “
