SEGA was rather well received when the brand announced the arrival, on June 22, of Sonic Origins, a compilation that brings together Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic CD.

The compilation aims to save retro games and offer a new game mode, dubbed Anniversary with unlimited lives, higher definition and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

SEGA had announced a host of bonuses to unlock as you progress and collect coins. But the brand’s strategy today has something to cringe about.

First criticism raised by the players: the variation of the title in two editions associated with 3 additional packs with a very complex reading of the content offered… To obtain all the content offered by SEGA, you will have to either get your hands on the version Deluxe AND the Dash Pack, either on the standard version and the other two packs.

But at the same time, SEGA has also announced that from May 20, it will no longer be possible to get your hands on the games offered in its single compilation. Clearly, to obtain one of the games integrated into Sonic Origins, it will be necessary to go through the purchase of the compilation.

However, SEGA should not intervene on SEGA AGES offered on Nintendo Switch Online with additional pack, so Sonic and Sonic 2 will always be accessible in Megadrive version.
