The title leaked a few days ago, but now it’s official: The hugely successful Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is getting a second part. The sequel goes by the title Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and was revealed, as expected, at this year’s Star Wars Celebration. The action adventure is scheduled for release in 2023 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. The information is still thin, but there is at least a first, atmospheric teaser trailer. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will once again be a story-driven, third-person action-adventure and once again focuses on the hero Cal Kestis. As you can easily see in the trailer, actor hatches Cameron Monaghan back in the popular role. In the CGI trailer, an alien from the Pau’an people speaks a few ominous words – although his part has not yet been determined, it could be the Grand Inquisitor. We also see Kestis discovering an old bacta tank in an overgrown facility in which a mysterious long-haired figure is being kept alive. On the official site we learn that Kestis is still on the run from the Empire. Exciting: The story of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is supposed to start five years after the first game, so about ten years after Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith. That would put Kestis in almost the same timeline as the new Disney series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Could Obi-Wan make an appearance in the game? Better yet, could Cal Kestis make his live-action debut in the Obi-Wan series?

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is once again being developed by Respawn Entertainment, and the game director is once again Stig Asmussen (God of War 3). In a press release he explains: “Even before the completion of Jedi: Fallen Order, our team had a vision of how we would continue the adventure of Cal, BD and the crew in a sequel. For Jedi: Survivor we are working closely with Lucasfilm Games together to continue the story of Jedi: Fallen Order. We use modern technology to continue Cal’s story with more dynamic Jedi combat and cinematic storytelling as Cal survives and matures through the dark times. We can’t wait to bring the world in reveal more about the game later this year.”
