The world’s largest chemicals company, BASF, has said that it plans to stop most of its business in Russia and Belarus by the beginning of July because of the war in Ukraine. The part of its business that contributes to food production would be an exception and would keep operating, the DAX-listed company said on Wednesday. The war, the firm explained, already posed the risk of triggering a global food crisis.
