Sony and PlayStation Production are multiplying license adaptations for cinema and television. The group is adding series inspired by God of War on Prime Video, Horizon Zero Dawn on Netflix and Gran Turismo (pending broadcaster).

In recent years, we have seen the attraction of VOD platforms for the worlds of video games and at the end of 2020, sony openly announced its intention to adapt several of its PlayStation licenses for both cinema and television series. Several projects have already been completed (such as Uncharted in the cinema), others are currently in progress (the film Ghost of Tsushimaseries The Last of Us with HBO Where Twisted Metal on Peacock) and as part of a conference with its investorsSony and PlayStation Productions would have confirmed at least three new adaptation projects.

According to the indiscretions reported by David Gibson, the rumor evoking a series inspired by God of War signed by Amazon for its platform Prime Video would be confirmed. He also mentions a series adapted from the games Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West this time intended for the catalog of netflixas well as an adaptation of the Gran Turismo racing license, obviously in the works but which would not yet have a designated broadcaster.

At this stage, no details filter on the scenarios of the series concerned and even less on the members of the cast – will they be intended to resume the plot of the games? Or only their universe? Unless they feature the characters of Aloy or Kratos in unpublished stories? We don’t know yet, but let’s bet the characters and worlds of the titles concerned are rich and solid enough to feed series, or even for a few seasons.
