The 22nd edition of the Gamers Assembly Festival Edition took place during the Easter weekend at the Parc des Expositions in Poitiers. Back in pictures and figures on 3 days of competitions and events at the heart of the video game universe!
Poitiers, April 27, 2022 – The Gamers Assembly Festival Edition, one-of-a-kind event dedicated to esports and video games, was held from April 16 to 18 to Poitiers. During 72hplayers, enthusiasts, amateurs, novices and families met on the 15,000 m² of Exhibition to live, discover, experiment and have fun in a 100% video game world. After two years spent in online format, the Gamers Assembly Festival Edition marks new hope for events!
In total, there are 2539 players who participated in this 2022 edition both to compete in the competitions on site and online! On the program are 21 tournaments that have been organized for this year of face-to-face recovery. Among the biggest games such as Fortnite, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Valorant, the Gamers Assembly has hosted the official stage League of Legends for its first physical edition of the Mastercard Nexus Tour.
On this occasion, 70 teams competed for a cashprize of 10.000€, with big names in esports like Chap from the PiqueSel team or players from Lunary and Solary Royals. It’s finally the team Historia SG who emerges victorious from this competition which has attracted more than 147,500 spectators with its live broadcast and replay on the official Gamers Assembly Twitch channel!
Other highlights of this edition placed under the sign of the return to physics, players from all over the world came to Poitiers for the Easter weekend, including 2 Swiss players registered in the Hearthstone tournament competition who came by bike from Geneva. It’s also the professional player Addexx, 4 times champion of Senegal on the FIFA license who moved for the occasion and finished second in the competition.
This year again, the Senior Trophy, organized with in partnership with SilverGeekwas back with a renewed format, and crowning in an extraordinary atmosphere the victory of Limoges against teams from La Rochelle and Angoulême. The Poitiers team, winner of the 2021 edition, still holds the record of 406 points in the final.
In order to allow the organization of this recovery edition, these are 442 people from all over France who mobilized to install the 1355 PCsconnect the 60 bracketsensure that the tournaments run smoothly, inform and accompany visitors and immortalize the memories of this return to the Poitiers Exhibition Center.
Finally during these three days placed under the common passion of video games, it is more than 16,000 visitor entries that have been accounted for, great optimism for the years to come. The Gamers Assembly thanks to its 59 partners, and the support of its main partner Greater Poitiershas lived up to its post-epidemic return bet and is maintaining itself for another year like the biggest esports event in France.

This return also allowed us to get a very clear view of the situation and we are now looking towards the Gamers Assembly 2023 in order to build on these foundations.
